Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the CFO in formulating the long term and short term objectives, activities, plans, policies and programmes for the Accounts Function
  • Assist the CFO in designing procedures, checks and internal controls for the effective management of the Accounts Department and preparation of Accounting Manuals.
  • Administer the day to day Accounting Function and supervising the activities of the subordinates
  • Ensure efficient and effective execution of all procedures and systems relating to accounting, collections and payments, transactions with the banks (deposits, withdrawals, etc.), budget verifications, bank reconciliation, release of cash flows to the departments, supplier advances and deposits, etc.
  • Supervise the preparation of periodic accounts to be placed before the Executive Committee. Conduct financial analysis of the monthly accounts and prepare notes required for the Executive Committee meeting.
  • Plan the overall cash requirements and assist the CFO in arranging funds in case of short fall and advise on profitable utilisation in case of surplus. Co-ordinate on a regular basis with the Asst. Manager (Treasury) for the same.
  • Monitor outstanding payments and liaise with other staff to ensure collection of debts
  • Ensure that suppliers are paid on time
  • Ensure that the working capital of the company is properly planned and managed
  • Ensure proper procedures are carried out for the opening of Letters of Credit and ensure that L/Cs are opened within the time limits specified.

  • Keep abreast of the laws and regulations affecting his job and ensure statutory compliance in areas relevant to Finance, Accounts, Taxation and Corporate Governance
  • Liaise with statutory and regulatory authorities when they require to inspect any documents, or if they require any information concerning the company.
