As the Contracts Manager at ZMI, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth execution of our business agreements. You'll be responsible for negotiating, reviewing, and managing contracts to protect our interests and foster strong relationships with our partners.
Key Performance Areas:
Handling all contractual communication (drafting emails/memos, responding to clients).
Reviewing all contracts to ensure liabilities are identified with comments for commercial department.
Draft contracts with the support of the Commercial Team.
Tracking key contractual requirements on running contracts i.e., PG, TB, Back charge, on hire, off hire, delivery certificates, etc.
Assist and advise on key contract negotiations during bidding phase, quantify the risk value and be able to provide mitigating contractual language / article project related solutions to minimize the risk.
Manages and maximizes business relationships with existing clients to understand their current and future needs and liaise with Business Development.
Successfully negotiate contracts with customers with compelling arguments and prepare contracts based on pre-approved awards and spot charters.
Ensuring that appropriate contractual notices are given properly, and on time, to both the clients and Subcontractors.
Ensure that all performance guarantees and insurances required under the Main Contract and Subcontracts are submitted / received on time.
Liaises with Technical and Marine Operations with respect to managing and recording balance of Charter Party ‘maintenance days’.
Notification and co-ordination with ZMI operations department on the new projects and requirements to facilitate mobilization plan.
Maintain confidentiality and Safeguard company’s contract objectives.
Complies with all relevant Contractual law as well as applicable Marine International and UAE Legislation.
In liaison with Dept. Heads limits contractual liability ensuring company-chartered vessels comply with Client’s requirements, international & local legislation, regulations, standards, codes, and conventions as amended.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Transportation, Engineering, Economics or Business Administration or any other relevant degree / qualifications.
Preferred Master’s degree in Marine Transportation or Business Administration.
Minimum 7 years of experience in contracts management in Oil & Gas Sector.
Previous marine experience ideally within Oil and Gas.
Ability to put together, manage and deliver contracts.
Basic understanding of international marine legislation for offshore vessels.
Understanding of marine operations for offshore vessels.
Proven contacts within Offshore sector.
Strong networking ability, influence & negotiation skills.
Computer skills, MS-Word and MS-Excel being specific.
Ability to plan, organize and coordinate strategically.
Willingness to co-operate and work constructively with department heads.
Ability to maintain acceptable and punctual attendance and work time behavior.
