Canadian University Dubai is seeking a part-time instructor of English for Academic Purposes
Key Responsibilities
Provide developmental and cognitive learning activities within the guidelines of the EAP program.
Teach listening, speaking, reading and writing skills in academic English.
Teach IELTS and TOEFL preparation.
Collaborate with University faculty, administrators, and Student Services to enhance students’ experience of the EAP program.
Monitor and evaluate students’ performance, attendance, and motivation.
Occasionally proctor TOEFL and/or other exams.
Provide academic support and remediation during office hours.
Participate in meetings and perform other duties usually assigned to teaching personnel.
Teaching Assignment
9 to 15 contact hours per week for a total of 12 weeks.
Start date is from September.
Education & Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in English, Second Language Teaching, Applied Linguistics, or a closely related field (Required)
Master’s Degree in English, Second Language Teaching, Applied Linguistics, or a closely related field (Preferred)
Formal and recent training in Second Language Teaching and Assessment (Required if no Master’s Degree)
Minimum 3 years of teaching experience, preferably in the UAE
