As the Director of Embedded Engineering, you will be responsible for leading and mentoring a multi-disciplinary team of firmware and hardware engineers. You will develop a clear vision for the future of embedded engineering, aligning engineering goals with broader business objectives. Your role will involve overseeing the architecture, design, and development of embedded systems across firmware and hardware, implementing best practices for engineering processes and tools, and providing technical direction for critical design initiatives.
Collaboration with sales and leadership to define product roadmaps, manage the product lifecycle, prioritize projects, allocate resources efficiently, establish strong relationships with Heavy-duty trucks OEMs are key aspects of this role. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with operations to ensure contract manufacturers' efficiency and reliability. Ensuring quality through design reviews, code audits, performance testing, compliance with industry standards and certifications are also crucial responsibilities.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical engineering or related field with 10+ years of experience in embedded systems development. You should have proven experience in delivering complex embedded systems from concept to production and expertise in firmware development (C/C++, RTOS) and hardware design (schematics, PCB layout). Experience in agile methodologies, version control systems, modern development tools is required.
