As the Senior Accountant, you will be tasked with managing financial operations, treasury activities, compliance matters, auditing processes, and optimizing accounting systems. This pivotal role demands exceptional analytical skills, strong leadership qualities, and the ability to drive financial strategies while ensuring regulatory compliance.
Your responsibilities will include preparing and analyzing financial statements for group entities, overseeing accounts payable/receivable processes, reconciling account balances/bank statements, developing budgets/forecasts/projections, managing company cash flow for liquidity optimization, handling treasury reports such as daily cash positions/monthly projections, monitoring foreign currency exposure/bank service fees/quality issues accurately recording bank transactions in the system (BC), ensuring GAAP adherence/internal control documentation for audits/tax/VAT return preparation/compliance across jurisdictions/tax planning strategies/transfer pricing policies review/improvements to accounting systems (BC) and linked systems (Aspect)/mentoring junior staff.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with professional certification (CPA/ACCA/CMA) being preferred. You should have 5-8+ years of experience in accounting roles within the energy/oil or commodities sector along with ERP system proficiency (BC/Aspect) and advanced Excel/database skills for reporting/analysis. Strong knowledge of tax regulations/compliance standards in UAE/international jurisdictions is essential.
