Our head office is based in central Manchester and is the home to many of our central functions. Due to continued business growth, we are delighted to be recruiting for a Finance Business Partner to take responsibility for Testing & Consultancy, a division within the larger BES Group covering the UK and Ireland.
As the Finance Business Partner, you will report in to the Head of Commercial Finance and will help to manage the P&L performance, be responsible for commercial analysis and drive working capital improvements. The role will business partner with colleagues in operations, sales and management. Working closely with the divisional Managing Director, you will provide insightful analysis to help maximise revenue and gross profit margins, improve operational efficiency, working capital and influence strategic decisions at Board level.

This is a key role requiring initiative, experience of working with large data sets and a confident communicator who can demonstrate prior success in a finance business partner or commercial accountant role.

Your role will be varied and provides an outstanding opportunity to join a highly successful Private Equity backed company as we venture into further consolidation and accelerated growth. The business is fast-moving which allows for a high degree of influence at this role’s level.
What will I be doing?
Responsibilities
No two days are the same at BES Group and there are always lots of projects to get involved with. As a Finance Business Partner your key responsibilities will include:
Business partner with operations, sales and management in a service environment. Helping develop commercial awareness.
Support the Managing Director and Delivery Managers with insightful business analysis.
Implement improvements in financial analysis and control. Develop working capital measurements and plans to control working capital levels, whilst maximising profitability and Cash Flows.
Provide detailed performance reporting and KPIs for board packs.
Review and analyse divisional costs to support accuracy of accounts. This includes providing accurate commentary and investigation into variances.
Potential to manage one Finance Business Partner with a strong emphasis on their development.
Create and manage company KPIs to help drive business performance.
Work with business leaders to provide meaningful information to support budgets and reforecasts.
Ensure utilisation and WIP reports are delivered and provide direction/support on ways forward.
Analysis of work in progress and other manufacturing KPIs.
Continuously look at ways to improve working files/processes/systems with the aim of increasing accuracy.
Drive automation of processes and data analysis, including utilisation of existing tools and working closely with MI and IT colleagues.
Identify risks and opportunities.
Ad hoc projects as and when required.

What experience do I need?
Role
You will be ACCA, CIMA or ACA qualified and offer significant post-qualified experience in a finance business partner or commercial accountant role. To work for us you will also have the right attitude, aptitude and appetite for what we do; Keeping Britain Safe. You’ll also offer:

Experience in a technical or other service sector industry (desired)
