As the Director of Smart Home Engineering at TP-Link Systems Inc., you will play a crucial role in driving the engineering vision of our company while leading high-performing teams. Your responsibilities will include defining the technology roadmap, overseeing architectural decisions, and fostering collaboration across various departments such as Product Management and Security. You will be tasked with optimizing development processes, managing budgets, ensuring operational excellence, attracting top talent, maintaining rigorous code standards, and coordinating global teams to enhance knowledge sharing and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the engineering vision in alignment with company goals
- Build, mentor, and oversee multiple engineering teams to foster innovation and continuous improvement
- Define technical strategy, lead architectural decisions, and ensure efficient system designs
- Collaborate closely with other departments to translate business needs into technical execution
- Establish and refine engineering processes including agile development methodologies
- Attract, hire, and retain top engineering talent to support growth
- Act as a key technical advisor to executive leadership on progress and strategic initiatives
To qualify for this role, you should have at least 10 years of experience in software/hardware engineering with a minimum of 5 years in an engineering leadership position. A strong technical background in embedded systems is required along with proven experience managing multiple engineering teams on large-scale projects. Excellent communication skills are essential for presenting technical topics to executive stakeholders. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or Engineering is preferred.
