Rubicon, a leading electronic goods production facility in Richmond Park, Cape Town, is seeking a dedicated Factory Manager to join our dynamic team. With a focus on producing LED luminaires, geyser controllers, microgrid controllers, inverters, and lithium-iron batteries, we are committed to manufacturing products of the highest quality while adhering to safety standards and industry regulations. As the Factory Manager, you will collaborate closely with the Chief Product Officer and other senior managers to ensure efficient operations and continuous improvement within our facility.
Reporting directly to the CPO, the Factory Manager will oversee all activities within the production facility, manage production schedules effectively, and work with material planners to procure raw materials just-in-time. Responsibilities include overseeing production supervisors, conducting regular factory meetings to address any issues related to staff or production orders, implementing continuous improvement programs following LEAN methodologies, and ensuring compliance with company policies and health and safety regulations. Additionally, you will be responsible for managing stock take activities, maintenance programs for production equipment, and training sessions for factory staff.
To excel in this role, candidates must possess a Matric/NQF 4 level qualification along with relevant business management tertiary qualifications and an electro-mechanical/electronic trade qualification. A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a high-volume production environment within the electronics or electrical accessories market space is essential. Strong leadership skills with 3-5 years of people management experience in a production environment are required. Proficiency in ERP and MRP systems as well as ISO 9001 QMS is necessary. Candidates must have their own vehicle and driver's license.
