A challenging career role for a wine focused Sales Manager with WSET or equivalent specialized professional qualification in a dynamic international channel.
Reporting to the Head of Travel Retail, the Sales Manager will be responsible to coordinate, develop and implement business strategy for the Travel Retail sales channel in order to achieve budgeted contribution and grow market share. Establish and build customer relationships with both brand and operator partners, manage key accounts, proactively seek out opportunities to grow existing business and identify new accounts to drive growth.
The successful applicant will need to demonstrate customer focus, strong commercial acumen, strong administrative skills, teamwork, excellent communication skills and a proven ability to build strong and sustainable partner relationships at all levels. Knowledge of wines is essential and WSET or equivalent qualification is preferred.
Key Position Accountabilities
• Establish & build customer relationships at a senior level across key accounts and brand owner partners to retain and maximize the revenue earning potential across the channel.
• Liaise with and ensure that formal business reviews are carried out with customer and brand owner partners to maximize listing, activation, revenue & GP growth opportunities and address any variances to the annual plan and activations to ensure measures are put in place to achieve them.
• Negotiate range and pricing with brand owners, build commercial value chains and manage P&L
• Build and actively manage full wine ranges to deliver both MMI and operator partners strategic objectives
• Negotiate and finalise contracts with operator and brand partners
• Creation and delivery of activation and training plans for contracted brands to drive distribution and promotions in target operators to deliver strategic & tactical returns for MMI
• Accurately forecast SKUs at customer level, ensuring that out-of-stock and aged inventory scenarios are avoided.
• Possess a passion and understanding of wines allowing the job holder to ensure category growth and maximise MMI’s share and wine category management in key operator partnerships.
• Manage shop floor brand ambassadors, set and agree targets with operator partner and ensure each member is fully trained on all products to maximise sales opportunities to over deliver on budget
• Perform other duties as requested by the Line Manager

Essential:
• WSET Advanced or equivalent specialized professional qualification.
• In-depth knowledge of wine
• In-depth wine knowledge and proven track record of full category management.
• Key account management experience at senior level
• Proven record of building strong sustainable and commercial partner relationships.

• Strong administration skills
