Our client, a cutting-edge technology company based in Atlanta, GA, is seeking a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) with DoD experience to join their dynamic team. As the CTO, you will play a crucial role in providing vision and leadership to achieve the technology and innovation goals of our client. Reporting directly to the Director of the organization, you will be an integral part of the executive leadership team and contribute to shaping strategic decisions on the Executive Council.
In this role, your key responsibilities will include developing a corporate vision, strategy, and roadmap in collaboration with partners to ensure effective implementation. You will build strong partnerships with executive leadership and academic leaders to drive shared goals while setting strategies for research investments and promoting technical excellence within the organization. Additionally, you will actively engage in external events and organizations as a thought leader to influence strategic thinking on national challenges.
As part of your team development responsibilities, you will lead efforts in hiring, developing, evaluating, and retaining top-tier leaders while fostering a culture of innovation, inclusivity, transparency, and accountability. You will also establish collaborative mechanisms with academic units and oversee metrics for monitoring performance aligned with federal standards and strategic objectives.
Moreover, you will be instrumental in leading research operations by establishing relationships across campus for innovative research opportunities. Working closely with support operations, you will determine budgets, prioritize investments, and manage space needs for research expansion. Your role will also involve overseeing IRAD portfolio development initiatives in conjunction with Lab Chief Scientists while managing a significant budget that supports various projects.
