As the Engineering Manager at Caldwell, you will be responsible for overseeing multiple aspects of engineering work groups, including mill duty, vacuum, posi-turner, standards, and stock products. Your role will involve implementing automated design changes to drive the reuse of existing designs while providing technical direction to the electrical engineering team members. You will interact with customers on technical matters related to new or ongoing projects and manage the development of the engineering staff through training plans and performance management.

In addition to managing day-to-day engineering activities, you will review designs, perform stress calculations, assign product redesigns when necessary, and develop engineering processes and standards. You will lead meetings focused on ECO/ECN and Product Integrity while ensuring compliance with all safety rules and requirements within your team. The ideal candidate should hold a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (BSME) with at least six years of experience in engineering roles, including three years of managerial experience. Proficiency in design software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD is essential for this role.

Key Job Requirements:
  • Six years of experience in engineering positions of increasing responsibility and scope
  • Three years of experience managing an engineering department
  • Six years of experience designing and revising using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or other automated design software
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (BSME) required
  • Experience using FEA analysis software and applying in real-world situations
  • Knowledge of methods and processes associated with design, development, and maintenance of products
Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Implements changes and incorporates more use of automated design changes to drive reuse of existing designs
  • Provides technical direct to the electrical engineering team members with design guidelines, documented practices, and wiring standardization
