A Network and Security Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of an organization's IT networks and security systems.
Person work with other IT professionals (internal and external) to ensure the organization's networks and systems are secure, reliable, and efficient. Main job duties include: Designing and implementing network and security systems:
Network and Security Engineer design and implement network and security systems that are tailored to organization's needs.
Network and Security Monitoring:
Monitor network traffic, Email, Endpoint, On-premises/Cloud Networking Infrastructure security logs to detect any suspicious activity and take proactive steps to prevent potential security breaches.
Troubleshooting and problem resolution: Identify and resolve any issues that arise with network and security systems/controls, including connectivity, configuration, and performance issues and assist users and peers. Upgrading and maintaining network and security systems:
Ensure that network and security systems are up-to-date and can handle the organization's current and future needs and achieve maximum service availability. Network and Security Projects:
Designing and implementing network security systems and controls, including firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDPS), Identity and Access Management, Data loss prevention (DLP) systems, Security information and event management (SIEM) systems, Backup and disaster recovery systems and Security policies and procedures to achieve strategy of Defence-In-Depth.
