The Role:
This major leadership role is at the heart of a highly-international business with strong growth potential. The CFO will report to the CEO (director) and assume a strategic role in the overall management of the company.
The CFO plays a key role in the development of the business and is expected to be both a functional and business leader.
The key dimensions of the role:
Financial leadership – leading, developing and motivating the finance team to provide a proactive, value-added service throughout the business. Develop a finance community that is closely aligned to the business.
Corporate finance – ensure an appropriate capital structure remains in place to support business plans, strategic planning, funding, and M&A.
Governance – a member of the ELT directly accountable for Finance & Financial Planning, Cash & Treasury, Tax, Internal Audit and Investor Relations. Dealing with regulatory issues as necessary and protecting the Group’s interests relating to legal, compliance and regulatory matters.
Strategic co-pilot – working in close partnership with the CEO to influence, deliver and communicate the Group’s strategy and future plans. Acting as a gatekeeper in managing relationships with Company’s investors, banks and bondholders.
Job tasks:
Direct and oversee all aspects of the Finance and Accounting, of the group. The emphasis should be on:
- Expenses management;
- Budget preparation management and monitoring;
- Working capital management; and
- Reporting to the CEO.
· Manage processes for financial forecasting, budgets and consolidation and reporting of the group. The key focus should be towards:
- Monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements management and reporting;
- Account management;
- Audit management;
- Budget preparation/monitoring;
- Working capital management;
- Cash flow management;
- Short term and long term load repayment management/refinancing; and
- Dividend payment policy development.
· Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS and applicable with federal, state, ad local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting. Other internal control tasks include:
- SAP implementation;
- Relevant finance policies and procedures implementations; and
- DoA implementation
Provide the CEO with advice on the finance related items including but not limited to:
- Expansions plans;
- Changes in business; and
- Debt/Equity financing
- Capital Structure
- Trend analysis
- Share performance
· Provide timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends and forecasts. Evaluate and advise of the financial implications of long-term planning, introduction of new programs and regulatory action. The emphasis should be on:
- Financial forecast preparation and management;
- Financial forecast analysis; and
- Liaising with banks/investors/shareholders.
Work in collaboration with senior executives of the company to develop plan for:
- Business expansion;
- Debt/equity financing;
- Reporting to the Board and shareholders and
- Preparation and presentation of financial disclosures to the public market.
